If you join the launch list we store your email address and the date of your consent, on the basis of Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR. We use it to send one monthly email and nothing else. Every email carries an unsubscribe link; we delete your address when you use it. The newsletter is not yet active — nothing is being sent while the site is in launch preparation.
Name, email and your message are processed solely to reply to you, under Art. 6 (1)(b) and (f) GDPR. Tips about places are kept while the relevant guide is in production, then deleted unless you asked to be credited.
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Netlify records standard access logs — IP address, time, page requested, browser — for security and stability, under Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. Transfers to the USA are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses agreed in our Data Processing Addendum with Netlify.
No tracking cookies, no advertising pixels, no analytics. All web fonts are self-hosted: the font files originate from Google Fonts but are served from our own server, so no connection to Google is made when you load this site and no data reaches Google.
Once the newsletter launches, subscriptions are processed by Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany) as our processor under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Brevo stores your email address, the consent timestamp and delivery statistics (whether a mail was opened or a link clicked) in order to send and measure the newsletter. Sign-up uses a double opt-in: you receive a confirmation email and are only added once you click the link. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to us.
Forms on this site are handled by Netlify Forms. Your entries are stored on Netlify's infrastructure and forwarded to us by email, under Art. 6 (1)(b) and (f) GDPR. We delete submissions once they are dealt with and at the latest when the relevant guide is published.
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — for us, the Saxon Data Protection Officer (Sächsischer Datenschutzbeauftragter). Write to us and we will answer within a month.
