We collect as little as we can get away with. Here is exactly what, why, and how to make us stop.

If you sign up for the Where To Go email, we process your email address on the basis of your consent, Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR. We use it only to send the newsletter — new guides, places worth the detour and launch news — and never share or sell it.
After you submit the form you receive a confirmation email. You are only subscribed once you click the link in it. To be able to prove your consent, we log the time of sign-up and confirmation and the IP address used. If you don't confirm, your address is deleted automatically.
The newsletter is sent via Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH, Köpenicker Str. 126, 10179 Berlin, Germany), our processor under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. The sign-up form submits your details directly to Brevo, where they are stored on servers in the EU. Brevo records delivery statistics — whether an email was opened and which links were clicked — so we can see what is useful to you. This happens on the basis of your newsletter consent.
You can withdraw your consent at any time via the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to info@findoutwheretogo.com. We then delete your address from the list; we may keep it on a block list only so we never email you again by mistake. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing up to that point.
Name, email and your message are processed solely to reply to you, under Art. 6 (1)(b) and (f) GDPR. Tips about places are kept while the relevant guide is in production, then deleted unless you asked to be credited.
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Netlify records standard access logs — IP address, time, page requested, browser — for security and stability, under Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR. Transfers to the USA are covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses agreed in our Data Processing Addendum with Netlify.
No tracking cookies, no advertising pixels, no analytics. All web fonts are self-hosted: the font files originate from Google Fonts but are served from our own server, so no connection to Google is made when you load this site and no data reaches Google.
The contact and tip forms on this site are handled by Netlify Forms (newsletter sign-ups go to Brevo, see above). Your entries are stored on Netlify's infrastructure and forwarded to us by email, under Art. 6 (1)(b) and (f) GDPR. We delete submissions once they are dealt with and at the latest when the relevant guide is published.
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — for us, the Saxon Data Protection Officer (Sächsischer Datenschutzbeauftragter). Write to us and we will answer within a month.
